In December, the mood changes, and the NVC Jazz Ensemble presents Hot Jazz, Big Band music passionate and sultry. What better way to warm up a cold winter night? Bill Gantt leads sixteen cool musicians in this midwinter concert. Friday, Dec. 2 at 8 p.m.
Finally, on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m., Harry Cadelago conducts Instrumental Rhapsody, a lush blend of winds, strings, percussion and brass to delight your ears and lift your heart. Instrumental Rhapsody features the NVC Orchestra performing Surprise Symphony by Joseph Haydn and Danse Bacchanale from the Camille Saint-Saens’ opera, Samson and Delila. The North Bay Wind Ensemble will present the William Byrd Suite by G. Jacob, four dances from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein and Catch Me If You Can by John Williams.
