On Thursday, April 14 at 12:30 students from Napa Valley College will gather to participate in “Hands Across California.” The Napa students plan to gather on a weekday on campus to show support for the statewide effort which will be on Sunday, April 17.
The event is being called "the largest fundraising event in higher education's history." It is designed to raise awareness and funds for California community College students. See www.handsacrosscalifornia.org for more information. The route will go from San diego north into northern California but not come in Napa County.
The Napa students will make a "human chain" holding hands from the Performing Arts Center building on the north end of campus going south through the campus "mall" or central walkway, and ending at the Library Learning Resources Center on the southern end of the campus to show unity and support for the California Community Colleges.
Benjamin Quesada, ASNVC vice president, said, "Please donate at this link below so that we can create a scholarship for those students in financial need.
