Theater for Young Audiences
Oct. 11-23, 2011

For the young ones, Schoolhouse Rock Live! will shake the rafters at Napa Valley College on October 11–23, 2011 as a Theater for Young Audiences Special Event. Directed by Jennifer King with Music Director Dr. Eve-Anne Wilkes, School House Rock Live! brings all your favorite cartoon characters to energetic life! This exuberant musical, performed by no less than 23 multi-talented artists, is based on the 38 years-young educational television program, School House Rock, which ran on ABC television off and on from 1973 to 1999. Additional episodes were produced as recently as 2009 for direct-to-video release. Whether remembering the show from one’s own childhood or seeing it through the lens of a young fan, School House Rock Live is sure to delight. Audiences will hear “Conjunction Junction,” “Three is the Magic Number” and “Just a Bill” along with many other favorites from the captivating cartoon. Singing, dancing and, yes, learning in the process…what could be better.

The Napa Valley College run will include four low-cost student matinees for local elementary schools.

School Performances are Oct. 11, 13, 17 and 19 at 11 a.m. Public Performances are Oct. 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 2 p.m. in the Main Theater at Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center located at 2277
