Spring registration in progress

Spring classes start Jan. 18 at Napa Valley College.

Once again, given budget considerations and in an effort to be more “green,” the college did not mail class schedules to every household. The schedule is available online. A limited number of printed schedules are available on the Napa and St. Helena campuses, at public libraries and other selected locations in the county.

It is anticipated that, starting next year, the schedule will no longer be printed but will be all online.

State budget cuts mean that larger numbers of students are attempting to register for fewer classes. Demand for classes is high and students are encouraged to register as soon as they can. Online registration started Nov. 7.  For example, more than 2,300 students attempted to register for classes Nov. 8.  Some 3,940 students were given priority to register on Nov. 10. Some delays were experienced as the college has more people eligible to register than system capacity to accommodate them all at one time, according to Jessica Millikan, associate dean, Admissions and Records. She recommends patience and to continue to attempt to register online.

Returning students and new matriculated students could start to register online on Nov. 14.

See the college website at www.napavalley.edu for more registration and class information.

Currently fees are set at $36 per unit. Financial aid information is available by calling 707-253-3020.
Many student services are in temporary locations while the former administration building is being remodeled. Admissions and Records staff are available in designated space in the cafeteria.
Counseling services are now located on the top floor of the 800 building.
