Candidacy:
To be considered eligible for candidacy you must complete the following:
1. Interview a current ASNVC board member.
2. Attend a total of four hours of ASNVC interaction prior turning in your application.
For example: attending an ASNVC board meeting, volunteering at an ASNVC event, helping out
in the Student Life/ASNVC Office, working on an ASNVC project or committee.
3. Complete ASNVC Appointment Packet. Only one position can be applied for.
4. Turn in a copy of your current transcript showing you have maintained a 2.0 GPA, are currently
enrolled in 6 or more units at Napa Valley College, and that you have completed 12 NVC units. (In accordance
with the Americans with Disabilities Act any student with ADA support may waive the 6-unit requirement).
5. Read and sign a copy of the ASNVC Constitution.
6. Present a petition of twenty-five student signatures.
7.Turn in ASNVC Appointment Packet by placing it in the Coordinator
of Student Life In Box in the Student Life /ASNVC Office, rm 1133.
8. Once you have turned in your appointment packet, you will be interviewed at the next available
student government meeting. If while at the meeting you are to be interviewed, another student
attends the meeting and is interested in the same position; your appointment might be postponed
until the following meeting to give that other student a chance to apply.

7. When you are ready to graduate from Napa Valley College or transfer on to a
four year college, you may request to receive a Commencement Stole and sit in the
first front row at the commencement ceremony.
8. Eligible to apply for ASNVC Scholarship
*For graduating NVC students who keep a 3.5 GPA or more, you may apply and be interviewed for the
opportunity to give one of the Valedictory Addresses at the commerncement ceremony.
