The 2011-2012 Napa Valley College Men's Basketball team has asserted itself as a competitive program in California.  The pre-season has been filled with a number of near misses against some of the top teams in California. A three point loss to Fresno CIty College (#4 in California) and a heartbreaking buzzer beater vs. Cabrillo College (#12 in California) highlight a tough pre-season for the Storm. This group showed their grit and toughness in their contest against defneding state champion, and current #1 Ranked team in California, San Francisco City College. This game saw the Storm take a 4 point lead at halftime and tied with as few as 10 minutes remaining.

Sophmores Brandon Cole(Vallejo HS), Jordan Greenwell(Hogan HS), Martin Jackson(SF Waldorf HS) and Jamie Ford (Cardinal Newman HS) are very important players to this year's team. Cole is a point guard with qucikness and an explosive scoring touch. Greenwell is one of the most tenacious rebounders in the state and has added a perimeter shot to his game last off-season. Jackson is one of the best shooters in NorCal. He routinely hits shots that leaves opponents and fans amazed by his range. Ford is a fierce competitor who can knock down big shots and is not afraid to mix it up with anybody.

Newcomers this year include 6'6" Raymond Edmondson(Rodriguez HS), point guard Lestee Ceasar(Clovis HS), defensive minded Jonathan Jackson(Elsie Allen HS), versatile Christian Edens(Hogan HS), unselfish Jose Sanchez(Hogan HS) and recently injured DaVonte Martinez(Armijo HS).

Now that the Bay Valley Conference has begun, look for the Storm to be very competitive!

There is quite a bit of talent on the roster this year and we look forward to the support of the college and the community.  A strong work ethic and ties to the area have strengthened the program to a point that has not been seen for over a decade.  We look forward to continued support from our community as we continue to improve...Together!
