Welcome to Athletics Hall of Fame

The 2011 Athletics Hall of Fame

We will honor two inductees in memoriam, Glenn "Pop" DuBose and Bob Steen.  "Pop" was hired by Dr. Harry McPherson to get the ball rolling for athletics and physical education, and his accomplishments are legendary.  Bob was a man for all seasons for 35 years within the physical education and athletic division, coaching numerous sports and serving athletic director for over a decade.  Frank Humpert will be honored along with Jim Hard, Scott Buss, Warren Brusstar, and Todd Pridy.  Frank played on the college's first football and basketball teams in 1946.  Jim was the nation's leader in receptions as a football player for NVC in 1977.  Scott was undefeated as an NVC tennis player in 1981.  Warren was a hard throwing pitcher for Napa in 1971 and went on to have a stellar major league career.  Todd Pridy was a junior college baseball All-American in 1990.  All seven inductees' inspire and motivate.

The primary goals of the NVC Athletic Hall of Fame are to recognize individuals for outstanding athletic contribution and/or participation at Napa Valley College and to illuminate the athletic tradition at NVC.  While athletic participation may be one factor in qualifying an individual for nomination, other factors are also taken into account.

The NVC Hall of Fame will honor a class each year.

"There are a lot of people in our history that are deserving.  Eventually, we will be able to honor the people who truly deserve it, and it doesn't all have to happen in the first year."
