FA SAP Status Definitions
FA SAP: Disqualified
Regardless of your academic progress, you are not eligible for financial aid, other than a BOG Enrollment Fee Waiver (if qualified).
FA SAP: Ineligible Excess Units
Your financial aid eligibility has been suspended, except for the BOG Enrollment Fee Waiver (if qualified), as you have exceeded the maximum number of units allowable for financial aid purposes.
1. At NVC the financial aid limit for students seeking an AA/AS degree or completing a transfer program is 72 units attempted.
a. Units attempted/completed at NVC and transferred units from prior colleges will be used when calculating financial aid limits.
b. Students who exceed the unit limit must submit a Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC) to be considered for additional aid.
2. At NVC the financial aid limit for students in an eligible certificate program is 150% of the units required to earn the certificate. For example, the unit limit for a 30 unit certificate would be 45 units attempted (30 x 1.5=45).
a. Units attempted/completed at NVC and transferred units from prior colleges will be used when calculating financial aid limits.
b. Students who exceed the unit limit for the declared certificate program must submit a Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC) to be considered for additional aid.
FA SAP: PFSC Elig. Limited
Your financial aid eligibility is limited to district work study only by a Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC). You must meet the standards required by the Financial Aid Academic Progress Policy for continued eligibility.
FA SAP: PFSC Expired-Suspend
Your financial aid eligibility was limited by a Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC), but the PFSC contract is now expired. You are not eligible for additional financial aid, other than a BOG Enrollment Fee Waiver (if qualified).
FA SAP: PFSC Final Semester
Your financial aid eligibility is limited by a Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC), and you are now in the final semester of your PFSC contract.
FA SAP: PFSC Probation XSU
Your financial aid eligibility is limited by a Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC) due to excess units, and you met the financial aid satisfactory academic progress standards required to maintain satisfactory standing.
FA SAP: Warning
You did not meet the financial aid satisfactory academic progress standards required to maintain satisfactory standing, but you remain eligible for aid on a probationary status. To return to satisfactory standing you must:
a. complete at least 67% of units attempted each semester; and
b. achieve a semester GPA of 2.0 or better, and
c. achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
FA SAP: Probation Warning PFSC
Your financial aid eligibility is limited by a Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC) due to excess units, but you did not meet the financial aid satisfactory academic progress standards required to maintain satisfactory standing. You remain eligible for aid on a probationary status, but are required to meet the conditions of your PFSC contract. To return to satisfactory standing you must:
a. enroll in courses in accordance with your approved PFSC educational plan; and
b. complete at least 67% of units attempted each semester; and
c. achieve a semester GPA of 2.0 or better, and
d. achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
FA SAP: Reinstated
You have met the financial aid satisfactory academic progress standards to be reinstated to satisfactory standing after being on suspension.
FA SAP: Satisfactory
You have met the financial aid satisfactory academic progress standards and are in satisfactory standing.
FA SAP: PFSC Probation SAP
You were placed on financial aid suspension, but your Petition for Special Circumstances (PFSC) was approved for special probation status. While on PFSC special probation, you are required to meet all of the following conditions to remain eligible for financial aid:
a. enroll in courses according to your approved PFSC educational plan; and
b. complete 100% of units attempted; and
c. achieve a semester GPA of 2.0 or better, and
d. achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better; and
e. meet the conditions specified by your PFSC contract.
FA SAP: Suspension
You have not met the financial aid satisfactory academic progress standards and have been placed on suspension status. Once suspended from financial aid, your eligibility may be reinstated by meeting all of the following conditions.
Without benefit of aid, you must:
a. enroll in at least 6.0 units for a semester; and
b. complete 100% of units attempted; and
c. achieve a semester GPA of 2.0 or better, and
d. achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
FA SAP: Warning XS Units
You have met the financial aid satisfactory academic progress standards and are in good standing, but are nearing the maximum unit limits for continued financial aid eligibility. Once you meet or exceed the maximum limits, your financial aid eligibility will be suspended.
